History
Fifteen men signed a petition to organize and American Legion Post in Florence, Alabama July 15, 1919. By December 31, 1919 Post 11 had 28 members. The first Post Commander was Albert McFarland and the first adjutant was George Bower. By 1948 the Post had 2,500 members.
Post 11 Broke ground for its present building on March 15,1936.
